Introduction: Mastering the technical reference for road safety in the Kingdom

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia launched the Saudi Road Code to be the unified technical reference for all authorities responsible for roads, with the aim of raising the level of safety, quality and efficiency across the Kingdom's huge road network. The Saudi Road Code Traffic Safety Course (RSC) aims to provide you with a comprehensive qualification to understand and apply all the safety requirements stipulated in the code, which covers all stages of the project from planning and design, through implementation, to operation and maintenance.

This course is your gateway to mastering the standards that seek to achieve the objectives of the Road Sector Strategy, chiefly reducing the fatality rate and reaching globally advanced ranks in road quality.

Comprehensive application of Saudi Road Code requirements

For whom is the traffic safety course in Saudi Arabia's law?

This advanced course is designed to meet the technical needs of professionals working in all aspects of road projects, including:

  • Traffic and road safety engineers.
  • Road design and maintenance engineers.
  • Road project supervisors and supervision teams.
  • Occupational safety and health officers in road projects.
  • Project managers and operations and maintenance teams.
  • Consultants and researchers in the field of transportation engineering and safety.
  • Engineers, supervisors, and contractors working on infrastructure projects.

Traffic safety course topics: Full coverage of the project phases

The course is spread over 6+ training hours divided into 3 sections and 3 master classes, and covers in depth the requirements of the Saudi Road Code across the four phases of the project:

  • 1. Planning and preliminary studies
  • Analyze the initial requirements of the project and determine the safety requirements.
  • Adoption of road design speed limit standards to enhance traffic safety.spa
  • Study the behavior of road users and incorporate it into the initial design.
  • 2. Engineering Design Phase
  • Apply safety standards in the design of signage and traffic signs.
  • Designing road cross-sections and facilities according to Code 304 to ensure the safety of users.shc.rga
  • Designing safety systems in temporary work areas.
  • 3. Implementation and field supervision
  • Ensure that work is carried out to the highest level of safety in the work areas.
  • Enforce code requirements for safe barriers, adequate lighting, and temporary signage.
  • Prepare approved traffic plans to organize traffic during the project implementation period.
  • 4. Operation and maintenance phase
  • Monitor the performance of road safety elements (signs, barriers, systems).
  • Implement regular and preventive maintenance procedures to ensure sustainable safety.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented safety solutions and make necessary improvements.

Additional specialized traffic safety modules

In addition to the main stages, the course highlights:

  • Traffic engineering and user behavior: An in-depth understanding of traffic engineering principles and how they affect roadway design.
  • Environmental considerations: Applying code requirements for environmental aspects in road projects.
  • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS): Exploring the role of new technologies in enhancing safety, including preparing the infrastructure for autonomous vehicles according to the code.

Expected output: What will you gain from this course?

Upon completion of the Saudi Road Safety Code (RSC) traffic safety course, you will be able to:

  • Achieve professional qualification to confidently and accurately apply the Saudi Road Code in your projects.
  • Gain a deep practical understanding of safety requirements at all stages of a project, from concept to operation.
  • Enhance your readiness to contribute effectively to major national projects, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 for a safe and sustainable road sector.
